I love helping students believe in themselves as mathematicians who can grow and have a deep understanding. Coaching students to choose a growth mindset and to learn from mistakes is a passion of mine. I have served on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Mathematics Council and am working as a teacher-researcher for College Preparatory Math. My 2017 research project focused on how to grow from mistakes, and my current project is titled getting “unstuck” in math. I have taught math in grades K4 - 7 for over 30 years, and I am grateful for the journey!

I love learning, teaching, and sharing practical strategies with other teachers. I co-founded and ran a school for ten years and took students on field trips all over the United States. I recently led a group of middle school students on a service learning trip to the Dominican Republic. I play the French horn in several performing groups, and I love origami!
